The general elevated feeling was supported not only by good surroundings but also by French Bubbles’ champagne. Guests were tasting: Colin, Pertois-Moriset, Furdyna, Lacroix and Waris champagnes, serving with canapés. Among the guests were representatives from  Arsenal Football Club, Verta Hotel, Chakravarty Polo Cup, French Bubbles, Bond Street Association, Russia Today and many others.

TV London took part in a charity event

July 11th, 2010

The fourteenth Chakravarty Cup 2010 took place on the 10th July at Beaufort Polo Club in Gloucestershire. The Chakravarty Cup raises Funds to aid people in need. The longstanding patron of this annual charitable event is the royal family. HRH The Prince of Wales took part for the first nine years and has now retired, but Prince William and Prince Harry have now taken over.

It was a fantastic day with a lot of pleasantries and happy faces. People gathered together for a good cause to contribute to several charities, you could feel how happy they were donating money and feeling the benefit of their contribution to good causes.

The event started with a champagne reception. Most of the guests gathered there were business, work and old friends and acquaintances, so there was a lot to discuss. The main part of the event was the Polo match preceded by a demonstration then a presentation Of the Chakravarty Trophy to the match winners.

After the lunch was a big auction.

All money raised in Chakravarty Cup was directed to help:

-      WellChild (the national charity for sick children. The charity helps seriously ill children and their families throughout the UK as they deal with complex medical conditions). WellChild is not limited to a single illness but tries to offer help to young people whatever their condition.

-      English Schools’ Swimming Association (initially organising swimming and diving championships for pupils in secondary schools. Over the years water polo and synchronised swimming championships have been added to the list. Added to the full domestic programme there are also international competitions both in swimming and water polo.  Apart from organising championships ESSA’s function is to promote the teaching of swimming in schools.

-      Henry van Straubenzee Memorial Fund (the charity was set up to improve the quality of education in Ugandan schools by investing in buildings and educational resources).

…and of course this event was exclusively filmed by TV London.
